Hate Never Creates What We Want
Recently I believe I have been able to understand people and the world that surrounds me better then ever before. This sharper view of the world has little to do with skill and everything to do with perspective.
I have realized over the last several years that disliking or hating a person, place, or thing is harmful for me. I believe wholeheartedly that the negative energy created harms me far more then anything I aim my dislike towards, but negative energy is not the main issue when it comes to my new discovery.
The reason I have gained such a valuable gift is because when we choose to love and accept everything the barriers between us fall down and the things we share in common become more obvious.
Another piece to this puzzle is I aim to take everything in stride. When my car wouldn’t start a few months ago I chose not to curse my car, but instead realized that this possible nuance had its purpose in the grand scheme of things. I chose to cherish the conversation I had with the person who gave my car a jump start.
Let’s be thankful for all the incredible opportunities this world has to offer and be thankful for the detours that we don’t understand. Life is not about what happens to us, but rather how we choose to handle our opportunities and perceived misfortune.
I believe with every fiber of my being that hate never achieved the positive outcomes that some hope for.
People much wiser then myself like Gandhi and Mother Theresa have said “I want nothing to do with an anti-war rally, but I will be the first one there for a pro-peace rally.”
Hating negative actions just creates more negative energy, while loving something creates positive energy toward whatever we choose to love.
All of our eyes change and mature at different rates. This piece just reflects my view at this point. Some are sure to disagree, but I would like to ask a favor.
Please ask yourself has hating something ever gotten me something I really wanted and am proud of? Some might say yes, but then I ask, was the emotion really hate at the core?
If you say that hate for X gave you what you really wanted. I would challenge that idea and say you truly loved the opposite of X and that was the key to success.
I know from personal experience hate can work in the short run, but it ultimately eats at you from the inside. Think about it and I wish you the best in discovering what works best for you.
I wish you only the best filled with love and growth, because we are all in this together!
